| Pennsylvania
is a state of great scenic beauty, with stunning natural areas,
lush landscapes, and distinctive communities.
Pennsylvanians take pride in
their state’s beauty and want to protect the places they love for generations
to come.
Yet, Pennsylvania’s beauty is
under siege from billboard blight, haphazard sprawl development,
gigantic cellular towers, strip malls, and insensitive road design that
threaten to turn its distinctive communities into “Anywhere, USA.” |
| The first Scenic Pennsylvania
exploratory meeting is scheduled for September 2001. This meeting
will provide an important opportunity for interested citizens, local leaders,
planners, landscape architects, officials and others to discuss how best
to preserve and enhance Pennsylvania’s visual quality. If you
would like to learn more about Scenic Pennsylvania and the September 2001
exploratory meeting, please fill in the form

| Scenic
America has partnered with 24 states and community scenic groups
that are successfully stopping the construction of new billboards, controlling
the proliferation of cellular towers, saving trees, promoting smart growth,
and protecting scenic landscapes. When citizens organize to protect
their sense of place and work closely with Scenic America, together we
have won significant victories for scenic conservation. A
scenic advocacy organization will have a substantial impact in the Keystone
State. |
